Habits …. The Ugly …. The Bad…. And Let’s End With The Good
It’s time to air out the dirty laundry thanks to Debbie Reynolds and her fun September contest. I’m a give me the bad news first type of girl so I’m going to start with the ugly, head to the bad, and then end with the good.
The Ugly – I do not do a good job of balancing work and personal. I work way too much and often times when I come home from work I get right back on my computer instead of listening to and spending time with my boyfriend Paul. He is one of the most understanding people I know and is without a doubt my biggest supporter but, I need to improve and give him more of my undivided attention. I’ve been getting up 30 minutes earlier to get more done because he’s already at work by then and that’s helped a little but, I still have a long ways to go.
The Bad – when I’m stressed I pull my eyebrows out. It might be genetic as my Mom tells me my great Grandmother did the same thing but, when your eyebrows start to look like Swiss cheese it’s time to take action. I don’t always realize I’m doing it but, when I catch myself I grab a stress ball that one of our preferred lenders gave me and try to squeeze that instead of reaching up and pulling on my eyebrows. Old habits are hard to break but, I will persevere.
The Good – communication is something I’m very good at and enjoy. Whether it’s communicating with clients, business contacts, or people in my personal life I’m on it. You can never have too much communication in my humble opinion and I think it builds strong and lasting relationships.
I feel a lot cleaner now that I aired my dirty laundry, thank you Debbie Reynolds for the opportunity to put it all out there. I’m hoping that by writing down my bad and ugly habits it will be even more motivation to kick them to the curb!
