Not All Agents Are Created Equal
When the time comes to select a real estate agent the choices are endless. You can find the contact information for an agent in less than 5 seconds if you Google real estate agent in X city or drive by 10 yard signs and have contact information for each agent in a matter of minutes. Neither technique would be one I’d recommend to select an agent but, all are possibilities.
As with any profession not all agents are created equal. Selecting an agent to work with whether you’re buying or selling a home is not a decision to be taken lightly. It should be carried out with a lot of thought and careful planning. Ask your family, friends, and co-workers to provide recommendations, read reviews online, and interview a few agents before you make your decision.
There are so many factors that go into selecting an agent – are they full time, do they know the area you are buying or selling in, can you contact their past clients for references, do you trust and like this person, are they available to work with your schedule. I could go on and on.
Just because your (insert family member or friends name) is in real estate doesn’t mean they’re the best person to represent you. Buying or selling a home is likely one of the largest transactions you’ll be involved with during your life. Do your research and due diligence before you make your decision.
