Ready Or Not It’s Time To Bid Farewell To 2016
As I write this I’m not sure where 2016 has gone. I know many of you can relate, the days are jam packed and the months fly by in a blur. We wear so many hats in Real Estate that it’s easy for time to pass right before our eyes. Whether 2016 was a stellar year for you or will be one you’re happy to see go it’s a time for all of us to reflect.
We can’t change the past so if you’re looking back and thinking a lot didn’t go well this year don’t beat yourself up. Commit to making a plan for 2017 and sticking to it. Writing a business plan is only half the battle. From there it takes a daily commitment to stick to it and make adjustments as needed. Think of it as a “living” document that you need to nurture throughout the year. This can also be true for our personal life. While I don’t write down a personal plan I do set personal goals for myself and check in regularly to make sure I’m on track. The more specific the better and I tend to share them with my boyfriend, coach, or someone I know that will hold me accountable for what I’m setting out to do.
Successes and failures are both going to happen in 2017 but, I think it’s how we react to each one that’s important. When you have success always remain humble. Real Estate is a team sport and its rare success happens without the help of others. Recognizing who helped you be successful is always important. When you fail it’s not the end of the world, process it and then get right back up and work on a solution. To me it’s not a failure unless you give up.
I wish all of you a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2017!
