Brand Loyalty: Land Rover, General Electric, and Havertys
Alexandra and Ron Segal presented us with an opportunity this month to share three brands we’re loyal too. This one made me think quite a bit because liking a brand and being loyal to one are very different in my opinion. Loyalty creates longevity and a customer that keeps coming back. I notice the three brands I selected on the road and in homes I tour regularly and I always think quality when I see them.
I purchased my first Land Rover in 2012 and am now on my second one. When it came time to purchase another car in 2015 there was no question what I was going to buy. Like many of us in real estate I drive a lot. Northern Virginia traffic is some of the worst in the country and because of that I spend a ton of time in the car. Not only does my Land Rover provide for a comfortable ride it’s also the most reliable car I’ve ever owned. After the blizzard in January 2016 I was able to show houses 2 days after we had 2 feet of snow, my clients loved that I was able to meet them and they made an offer. Other than going in for maintenance I’ve never had any issues. The service department staff at Alexandria Land Rover is also a part of why I am loyal to Land Rover. They’re honest, kind, and genuine in their approach. If something is taking longer than planned I get a phone call and they always provide me with a loaner car at no cost.
My loyalty to General Electric probably started subconsciously because it was a brand my grandparents and parents both showed their loyalty too when I was growing up. I have always found their appliances to be extremely reliable and real work horses. I have GE appliances in my own home now and I find them all to be well made. I also like that when a repair is needed the cost is very reasonable. From their basic lines to their higher end lines they have a price point that’s affordable for anyone looking to make a purchase.
Havertys furniture has proven to me time and time again that they sell quality furniture and deliver exceptional customer care. Their furniture lasts for a lifetime and from helping me locate the right pieces to their delivery staff they really provide a full service experience. I think their furniture offers an exceptional value. Good furniture isn’t inexpensive and when you’re investing in pieces you plan to keep for years to come it’s important to purchase from a company that stands behind their product. Haverty’s does just that, I always find it a nice though that their sales staff follows up 30-45 days after delivery just to make sure I’m still satisfied with my purchase.
As I started thinking about brands I’m loyal too I noticed a recurring theme – quality products and a reliable, friendly staff are very important to me. Any brand can have something go wrong but, if their staff is there to correct the problem quickly all is forgotten. Having a certain level of service delivered is more important to me than price. I prefer to pay for the quality that certain brands offer knowing that I’ll receive an experience that’s consistent every time.
